Summer Reading at St. Thomas

Each summer our parish leadership invited the community to join us for St. Thomas Summer Reading. Books are chosen following the good work of the RI Center for the Book, or my members of the community on a topic of relevant to parish life. We encourage all to read the selected book on their own, and then gather together late summer for conversation and reflection.
In the Summer of 2024 we read Javier Zamora’s book Solito: A Memoir which tells the story of the author’s migration to the United States as a 9 year-old boy. Joining us for our conversation (pictured below) was the Rev’d Jack Lynch, Rector of San Jorge’s Pawtucket/Central Fall - one of the hispanic congregations of our Diocese.
2025 Summer Reading Book
This summer, instead of joining with the RI Center for the Book, we will be reading one of the books that Fr. Dante has on his sabbatical reading list. All are welcome to join us as we read David Grann’s book, turned major motion picture, Killers of the Flower Moon: The Osage Murders and the Birth of the FBI.
Books will be available by the end of May in the parish hall library. Stay tuned for more information on the late summer gathering and discussion.
